The award was presented by ex-England rugby player Martin Bayfield at the TAF’s Annual Networking and Awards Dinner on 7th July 2011 in the magnificent setting of Plaisterer’s Hall, City of London.
Now in its ninth year, the event recognises, rewards and promotes best practice amongst Trade Associations in the UK. The Award was accepted from Martin Bayfield by FeRFA CEO, Helen McGachie, and Administrator, Lisa Hennessey.
The FeRFA recycling scheme is a major initiative to bring contractors and manufacturers together in a collection and recycling programme for waste packaging. The great benefit of this scheme is that it is having an immediate and positive impact on the environment, it saves money and resources by managing waste more efficiently, and is an industry first through the introduction of a closed loop system to re-use waste plastic packaging.
Working with FeRFA partners, Countrywide Waste Management, waste packaging (hazardous and non hazardous) is collected, decontaminated and reprocessed for future use, with up to 100% of waste being recycled.
As the UK body for the resin flooring and surface preparation industry, FeRFA is committed to the implementation of sustainable practices and has signed up to the WRAP Halving Waste to Landfill scheme. |
