Leicestershire based adhesive labelling company, Hamilton Adhesive Labels, recently celebrated 20 years in business, and as part of its continuous improvement programme has announced a £500,000 investment in new print technology that it expects to improve both the quality and consistency of its offer to customers.

The company, which is based in the Bardon Hill Business Park, has taken delivery of an MPS 8 Colour UV Flexo Press from Holland.

This will not only enable the business to exploit the growing demand for the technology from within its own customer base, but will also help it to develop further into the cosmetic, toiletry and healthcare markets.

Additionally, the company has purchased a 100% camera inspection system from A B Graphic International. The system is one of the first in the UK and will eradicate print errors ensuring that customers receive the best possible product.

Chris Marsh, managing director and founder of Hamilton Adhesive Labels, says of his new investment:

“Customers have been asking for this service for some time and now that we have it, we envisage a significant growth in orders that will enable the new press to return on its own investment very soon.

“The cosmetics, toiletry and healthcare markets work heavily on synthetic materials such as clear on clear substrates, polypropylene and polyethylene and our new press is ahead of its time in this area, which will provide us with a real USP for further market growth.”

The new press was manufactured by Multi Print Systems (MPS) of Holland, recognised in the industry as one of the foremost companies in the narrow web design space.

Operating from a 25,000 square foot manufacturing facility, Hamilton Adhesive Labels currently manufactures adhesive labels primarily for the food, logistics and beverage sectors for brands such as Bakkavor Food Group, DHL and The Samworth Group.
