Uk's Lightest Water Bottle
Uk's Lightest Water Bottle | packaging gazette,nestle,environment,

Nestle Water have announced that they will launch what they say will be the UK's lightest water bottle. The new Buxton Natural Mineral Water and Nestle Pure Life brand waters will feature a shorter neck than their predecessors and an ergonomic shape design. The company have not disclosed the exact weight of the new bottle, but it will use an average of 25% less material. This is in line with the company's commitment to optimising packaging to reduce their impact on the environment.

This announcement comes after the company invested £35million in a new bottling plant in Buxton. The new plant will open in spring 2012 and is designed to reduce the company's industrial footprint by reducing the impact of the supply chain, and reducing energy usage in the lines produced.

Nestle Water say they are continuing to explore other ways in which they can make their packaging more environmentally-friendly. The company are currently looking into bio-plastics - a compostable and biodegradable alternative to traditional packaging.
